While my new Substack publication, The Wilds of Cancer: A Journey, focuses on my last two years dealing with cancer, there’s more to my life than cancer. For the last ten years Mary and I lived in Gardiner, MT, at Yellowstone’s north entrance. We moved there after living and working for three life-changing winters at Yellowstone’s Lamar Buffalo Ranch. We longed to live near wild lands in a place with more wildlife than people.
We filled the last decade doing what we love: hiking, skiing, backpacking, canoeing, and bicycling in and around Yellowstone. (To read about some of our adventures, check out the books below.)
While out and about, we always kept our cameras handy. Periodically I created slideshows with photos and music that I hope express our love for these wild lands and their wildlife. A love that grows stronger as the years go by.
I’m sure that our time in nature helped me heal over the last two years, and I’ll share more about that in forthcoming chapters from The Wilds of Cancer: A Journey. As a free subscriber you’ll receive one preview chapter each week. I’ll also share slideshows periodically as a way of saying thanks for subscribing.
I hope you enjoy this show that celebrates fall in Greater Yellowstone. Feel free to share it.
As always, I welcome your comments.
Sincerely,
Rick
