Your Thoughts on The Back Cover
The Wilds of Cancer is coming in January
Our preparation of The Wilds of Cancer for publication continues. We are collaborating with the book designer (Jamie at OpenHeartDesigns.com). I shared the front cover a couple of weeks ago and received lots of helpful feedback. I thought I’d share the back cover and hope for your comments, especially on:

the description of the book
The Wilds of Cancer is, at its heart, a love story of how Rick and his wife, Mary, move as a couple through a major health crisis after he is diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. It presents an honest, human look at living through diagnosis, treatment, and side effects. In engaging true stories, Rick reveals their fears and successes, their vulnerable moments and joyful breakthroughs on a life-affirming journey. He also describes their holistic approach to dealing with cancer, which combines rigorous research, healing time in nature, and changes in diet, attitude, rest, and exercise. This book’s thoughtful, hopeful perspective doesn’t sugarcoat their experience. Instead, it offers—from a patient’s perspective—strength and clarity when everything feels uncertain. This book speaks directly to patients, spouses, caregivers, and anyone on a journey into the wilds of cancer.

Disclaimer
I’m a writer, not a doctor. I’m very qualified to write stories about my journey. I’m not qualified to give—nor am I giving—medical advice. As these stories show, Mary and I came up with many approaches to deal with my cancer. We always ran our ideas by our medical team to see how the approaches fit medically. Everybody’s body is different. What worked for me may not work for someone else. If something in these stories generates an idea of an approach that you or someone you know might use, first consult with the medical team.

Love everything about the back cover. The reviews are excellent, nice photo of you and Mary, and the description is great. Nothing to improve upon, imho.
Great blurbs, Rick!
